MANUFUTURE Platform supports European Industrial Technologies Conference
The MANUFUTURE Platform, the organization representing the major European industries and research organizations in the field of manufacturing, is currently supporting the European Industrial Technologies Conference, which will take place on 7, 8 and 9 September 2010. Organized by the European Commission, the conference is also supported by the Belgian EU Presidency.
Information Day on PPPs 2010
Applications are now open for the Information Day 2010 on the three Public Private Partnerships (PPP) “Energy-efficient Buildings”, “Factories of the Future” and “Green Cars”, which will take place on 9 July 2010, at the Charlemagne Building, in Brussels.

The MANUFUTURE 2008 Conference took place on 8 and 9 December in Saint Etienne, France.
"Linking Education and Industry"
The "Linking Education and Industry" communication was presented by Professor Pedro Cunha on 28 August 2008, in Manchester, in the context of the 58th CIRP General Assembly. This presentation included some of the results obtained in the context of the work carried out by Work Group 2.
Workshop "ManuFuture – Future Trends and Initiatives for Facilitating Technologies at a National Level"
The workshop entitled "ManuFuture – Future Trends and Initiatives for Facilitating Technologies at a National Level" took place on 3 July 2008 at the facilities of EST Setúbal. The workshop took place in the context of the 5th CENI Forum – technology and innovation, entitled "Evolution of Manufacturing Systems: Efficiency and Sustainability”. The aim with this workshop was to discuss the opportunities to do research and to develop Technologies that promote the Industry’s development.
Workshop "Beyond Lean Manufacturing"
The workshop "Beyond Lean Manufacturing" took place on 25 June 2008, with the participation of Professor Engelbert Westkamper from the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft. The workshop occurred in the context of the BASYS 2008 Conference at the Hotel Ipanema Porto. There, it was possible to discuss the industry’s state-of-the-art, trends and challenges.
General Assembly of the Forum
The General Assembly of the Forum met on a regular session at the association (facilities of the Universidade Católica in Porto), on 30 April 2008, in order to discuss and approve the Annual Report 2007 and the Activity Plan and Budget for 2008, among other subjects of interest to the Forum. The respective documents may be accessed through the area reserved to the Forum’s members.
2nd Workshop "Promoting Research within the Industry"
The second Workshop of Forum MANUFUTURE Portugal’s (FMP) Work Group 1 took place on 18 April 2008, at INESC Porto’s facilities. The aim with this second workshop was to conclude the process (started in the 1st Workshop) of validation/correction of the measures proposed by the Group.
1st Workshop "Promoting Research within the Industry"
The first Workshop of Forum MANUFUTURE Portugal’s (FMP) Work Group 1 took place on 22 February 2008, at INESC Porto’s facilities. This was the first of two meetings promoted by the Forum for the validation/correction of the discussion paper produced by the internal group. This document presented the activity proposals to promote Research within the Industry.
FMP promotes MANUFUTURE 2007 Conference in Portugal
The MANUFUTURE 2007 Conference - Constructing a Sustainably Competitive Europe took place between 2 and 4 December, in Porto.
Workshop "Linking Education and Industry"
The presentation of the preliminary results and launching of debate sessions took place on 26 November 2007, in Palmela, at the Salão Polivalente of the Municipal Library. The aim was to gather additional contributions, as well as to validate and summarize some of the conclusions.
European Tooling Forum, 13 and 14 September
Organized by the ISTMA-Europe confederation, closely with the ManuFuture European Platform, the first European Tooling Forum took place in Lisbon, at the Culturgest Auditorium. This event coincided with the Portuguese Presidency of the European Community during the last semester of 2007.
General Assembly of the Forum
The General Assembly of the Forum met on an ordinary session on 12 February 2007, at the Palácio da Bolsa, in Porto. The aim with this meeting was to discuss and approve the Annual Report for the year 2006, as well as the Activity Plan and Budget for 2007. At the same time, it was an opportunity to discuss subjects related to the Organization of the MANUFUTURE 2007 Conference.
Industrial Advisory Group in Porto
The Industrial Advisory Group held its first large meeting in Porto, on 23 and 24 July 2006. It was chaired by Heinrich Flegel, president of Daimler-Chrysler, and concluded by José Manuel Durão Barroso, President of the European Commission.

The European Technology Platform MANUFUTURE has recently launched EFFRA - European Factories of the Future Research Association as a reaction to the European Commission's proposal for the establishment of a public-private partnership in the context of the “Factories of the Future”.

The Conference MANUFUTURE 2009 – Implementation of a Sustainable European Manufacturing Industry will take place on 30 November and 1 December at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden.
